Single Handmade Cushion
This beautiful cushion has been skillfully handcrafted from a reclaimed Silk Obi. The white silk Obi panel is heavily embroidered with platinum and silver metallic threads, creating an opulent and lavish design. Framed either side with silver piping and complemented with soft cotton velvet to the sides and back. The neutral tone and metallic threads give a sophisticated finish, meaning this piece will fit into a stylish home.
Mandarin ducks are life partners so symbolise Eternal Love. They rest on a stream surrounded by an array of flowers and leaves, all to represent a long and happy future.

The theme of this panels is one of Love and a Happy Future. The main feature is the Pair of Mandarin Ducks, they are life-long partners and symbolise Everlasting Love. They rest on a stream surrounded an array of flowers the most noticeable are; Plum Blossom to represent the Start of a New Era, Bamboo for Strength and Growth, and Chrysanthemums for Longevity. The design has the effect of being on a Scroll, symbolic of Learning and Culture.

This cushion has been caringly hand-crafted from a reclaimed woven silk obi, in way that honours the craftsmen and hours spent designing and weaving the fabric.
The cushion back and sides are made from slate colour soft cotton velvet.
It has been lined with cotton and has a concealed zip closure.
It is supplied already filled with my custom Kapok & Tencel Cushion Fillers, made in house using cruelty free & sustainable materials. Click the link for more information.

Product Care Guide
K-Squared Cushions are luxurious, decorative cushions made from reclaimed Kimono and Obi fabrics, designed for use on beds, sofas, or chairs. They should not be used as floor cushions, outdoors or sat on. The are mainly made from silk, with hand painted designs, metallic threads or embroidery. The delicate nature of these fabrics mean
they require some special care:
- Handle with care ~ Avoid rough use. Not suitable for babies, pets, outdoor use or as floor cushions. (defiantly no pillow fights)
- Keep away from direct sunlight ~ To prevent fading and the degradation of the silk fibres.
- Keep dry ~ Dry clean only. Be careful of sweaty backs or spillages.
- Spot clean stains ~ Carefully dab stains (do not rub), or get professionally dry cleaned.
- Avoid sharp objects ~ Such as pets claws, that may snag or tear the fabric.
- Store properly ~ Keep in a cool, dry place.
- Keep Away From Fires ~ or other heat sources such as radiators, candles, incense sticks etc as the cushions or inserts may be flammable.
The cushion inserts are made from sustainable Kapok and Tencel. The same advice applies as above. They will stay full and plump if gently
fluffed after use, and stored properly.
